The King County Wastewater Treatment Division (WTD) has a staffing need for experienced and technically proficient Industrial Maintenance Electrician at our South Treatment Plant. If you are looking for the ability to grow in the electrical field this opportunity will utilize and expand your electrical maintenance skills working on a large variety of systems and projects. About the Role: This position performs a variety of highly skilled journeylevel work by constructing troubleshooting maintaining and wiring a wide variety of equipment and conducts preventive maintenance programs at a wastewater collection and treatment facility including pumping and regulating stations. This role will work both independently and in collaboration with other electricians other skilled trades and industrial plant operations staff. To ensure a safe work environment this role will use appropriate PPE and proper LockOut Tag Out procedures around electrical mechanical and environmental hazards including working in PermitRequired Confined Spaces.
About the Team: The Electrical Crew is an integral part of the maintenance group that supports the operations to treat wastewater. We protect public health and enhance the environment by collecting and cleaning wastewater while recovering valuable resources for a healthy Puget Sound region. The Wastewater Treatment Division carries out essential work that protects the environment and all members of the public. We are comprised of a group of professionals that strives to deliver outstanding service through a collaborative effort both at our treatment plants and offsite collection facilities. The instrumentation and electrical group are a critical component within the wastewater treatment division helping to fulfill the countys mission to protect the regions water air land and natural habitats.
Perform maintenance and repairs on power systems (up to 13.09 KV) that include switchgear transformers distribution systems power generation systems including standby emergency generators cogenerating systems and all related ancillary equipment.
Install maintain troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance on 480v motor control centers including associated control devices such as relays timers switches and interlocks.
Install maintain troubleshoot and repair variable frequency and direct current drives including adjustment of speed profiles troubleshooting and repairs to component levels and replacement when needed.
Install troubleshoot reprogram and modify programmable logic controllers. Design and modify control circuits and related control devices and equipment.
Create work orders and material requests to make repairs and replace defective parts and log all completed work in a CMMS.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience Qualifications Knowledge Skills
Qualifications You Bring:
3 years of journeylevel work experience in an industrial electrical maintenance environment. Knowledge of the application of national electrical codes.
Completion of an apprenticeship program or equivalent training which clearly demonstrates journeylevel status.
Knowledge of principles of electrical distribution and generation and equipment including but not limited to transformers circuit breakers protective relays disconnect switches voltage regulators automatic transfer switches synchronizing and power monitoring equipment.
Knowledge of and experience with AC/DC motors and controls and variable frequency (speed) drives.
Knowledge of and skill in electrical troubleshooting and diagnosis of electrical equipment including but not limited to motor control automation MCCs automated lighting batterycontrolled equipment UPS and HVAC equipment.
Knowledge of electrical test equipment used for electrical troubleshooting diagnosis and preventative maintenance. Equipment includes but not limited to ammeter (AC/DC) megohm meter multimeter oscilloscope tachometer power quality analyzers thermal imaging cameras and meters.
Knowledge of PLCs (programmable logic controllers) including but not limited to hardware programming software and communication protocols.
Knowledge of and experience in applying safety practices for electrical (low medium and high) voltages mechanical and environmental hazards such as hazardous chemicals gasses and confined spaces.
Demonstrated skill in making and updating new or existing electrical drawings and technical publications as required.
Ability to be on a rotating standby call list after a probationary period.

Working Conditions:
Work Location: South Treatment Plant 1200 Monster Rd. S.W. Renton WA.
Work Schedule: This fulltime position works a 40hour work week. This position is covered under the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and is overtime eligible. The position requires the ability to work all shift schedules and required to report to work during adverse and inclement weather conditions. Ability to be on a rotating standby call list after a probationary period is also required.

Physical Requirement:Incumbents perform field work at a wastewater treatment plant and associated facilities and are required to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 pounds work in confined spaces kneel crawl walk and climb using ladders catwalks and stairways work indoor outdoor in open tanks and vaults and around noxious odors and high noise levels.A preemployment physical review of driving record and reference checks will be conducted prior to any final job offer.
