The Department of Administration Division of Retirement and Benefitsis recruiting for a Retirement and Benefits Specialist 2
(Member Services Assistant Manager)inJuneau!




What You Will Be Doing:

Under the general direction of the Member Services Manager the Retirement and Benefits Specialist 2 is responsible for:

  1. Counseling and Technical Services: Providing expert counseling and technical services to members of various retirement and benefits systems including PERS TRS NGNMRS UVPARP JRS EPORS SBSAP and DCP.
  2. Supervisory Duties: Supervising and assigning work to Member Services staff ensuring consistent performance quality assurance and adequate staffing.
  3. Training and Development: Developing and delivering technical training on retirement and health benefits preparing materials and addressing complex questions.
  4. Counseling Members: Offering comprehensive counseling on retirement options health plans disability benefits death benefits and other benefitsrelated issues.
  5. Compliance and Liaison: Acting as a liaison for employers ensuring compliance with regulations conducting audits and representing the division in appeal hearings.

The Working Environment You Can Expect:
The job is located on the 6th floor of the State office building offering a beautiful view of the Douglas Channel. The daily work environment is primarily officebased focusing on members collaboration with team members and coordination across divisions; occasional travel may be required.
