Key job responsibilities
As a System Development Engineer you will/may:
Create improve or invent tools and/or applications that are a part of a larger system.
Write code that is secure stable testable maintainable and has minimal defects.
Understanding of a variety of technologies such as hardware software networking and operating systems and how they interact with one another.
Participate in team design scoping and prioritization discussions.
Build systems and processes that enable other builders through improved safety agility and automation
Seek to learn the business context and technologies behind your teams system implementations.

Currently working towards a Bachelors or Masters Degree in computer science computer engineering systems engineering electrical engineering or other equivalent discipline with an expected conferral date between September 2023 February 2025 and/or completed your degree no more than 24 months ago.
Experience with coding scripting automating in at least one language (e.g. Python C C Java Ruby or PowerShell).
Experience with opensource technologies (e.g. Linux Spring React).
Familiarity with TCP/ICP networking fundamentals and application of IP protocols such as: DNS DHCP NTP SMTP and SNMP.
Strong objectoriented design and coding skills developing on Unixlike operating systems
Experience with distributed computing programs and systems.
Documentation and problemsolving skills with attention to detail
Experience with automating and simplifying team development test and operations processes.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $89200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity signon payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
