Summary of Job Duties:

Quality candidates should be able to teach a wide range of courses in our undergraduate curriculum. An ideal candidate will be able to teach any of the required courses in our undergraduate programs especially Introduction to Criminal Justice Police and Society Corrections and/or Crime and Behavior along with other elective courses in the undergraduate curriculum. This position is a ninemonth contract that includes teaching in facetoface hybrid and online formats. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.


Candidates are expected to 1 work positively with students staff faculty and the community 2 teach a variety of online hybrid and facetoface classes in the undergraduate program 3 conduct research and publish scholarship in peerreviewed journals and 4 serve the department the university and the community. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.


Qualifications:

Required Education and/or Experience:

  • PhD (or completed all PhD requirements before employment commences) in Criminology Criminal Justice or a closely related field;

  • A JD is not sufficient for this position and will not be considered.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Teaching experience in multiple modalities (in person hybrid online)

  • A research agenda that allows for publication and funding

  • Experience working on and preparing funded research projects

  • Experience mentoring or supervising graduate students.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Teach online or facetoface formats at the undergraduate masters and doctoral level;

  • Work positively with faculty staff students and the community;

  • Mentor students across the curriculum;

  • Conduct and disseminate scholarly research;

  • Serve the department the university and the community;

  • Perform other duties as required.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Commitment to teaching and mentoring students;

  • Willingness to teach in both online and facetoface formats;

  • Active research agenda in Criminology or Criminal Justice.
