Job Summary/Description:

The Station Engineer facilitates the daytoday operations of the Engineering and IT departments of the broadcast TV station. The candidate is responsible for the maintenance of all broadcast technology equipment and workflow at the station. Candidate must maintain a live news production environment and processes. Candidate must manage and administer all aspects of the IT infrastructure.

This position is responsible for the support implementation and maintenance of all Broadcast technical facilities equipment and software applications for local and remote operations including but not limited to workstations servers phones networks databases automation systems video routing video editing equipment as well as all broadcast systems to include encoding and transmission systems.

Duties/Responsibilities include but not limited to:

Manage and schedule technical staff
Monitor multiple air channels and transmitters maintaining regulatory compliance and assuring quality control of onair product
Oversee IT systems and infrastructure
Maintain transmitters satellite antenna systems automation signal distribution and routing systems
Ensure the station is compliant with FCC requirements and licensing and OSHA guidelines
Oversee all building maintenance and upkeep items working in consultation with the other departments
Responsible for maintaining equipment for all aspects of the onair product TV air chain video editing systems IT networks graphic systems field newsgathering equipment and weather systems

Qualifications/Requirements:

Minimum of 5 years of experience in broadcast engineering with at least 35 years in a supervisory or management role
Experience with RF technology video/audio production systems automation systems and IT networking and IT Security
Strong understanding and experience with live news production environment and processes
Experience with IPbased video/audio transport and streaming technologies
Ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends as needed
Strong problemsolving skills and the ability to work under pressure
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Must be available to support 24/7 operations
