Mount Alvernia Hospital in Guildford is part of Circle Health Group Britains leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country.
We have an opportunity for a Pharmacy Lead to join their team of staff in the Pharmacy Department.
This is a fulltime role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required tocover a flexible shift pattern.
Duties of this role include:
- Provide expert clinical guidance on the safe and effective use of medicines across inpatient outpatient and surgical services.
- Promote evidencebased prescribing and ensure appropriate use of the hospital formulary.
- Lead on medicines reconciliation discharge planning and patient counselling as needed.
- Oversee daytoday pharmacy operations ensuring efficient workflows adequate staffing and timely service delivery.
- Coordinate pharmacy support to wards theatres and outpatient clinics ensuring continuity of supply and service coverage.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory standards (e.g. GPhC CQC MHRA) and organisational policies.
Applicants should meet the following criteria:
- GPhCregistered Pharmacist with significant postregistration experience.
- Demonstrated experience in hospital pharmacy services including clinical and operational responsibilities.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Sound knowledge of medicines legislation clinical governance and patient safety frameworks.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
