Job Description
Overview

The strategists pragmatists and creative thinkers on our Growth team establish peoplecentric business strategies for our clients fusing the practices of design strategy and sales to structure the business impact of design at a strategic operational and organizational level.
We are looking for an individual who wants to leverage a combination of pricing and competitive intelligence expertise to provide the best value solutions for our clients.
Contributions
The primary focus of this position is to work collaboratively as part of a diverse capture team that is assigned to strategic new business opportunities to perform competitive intelligence and price to win analysis in coordination with the overarching win strategy and technical solution.
Responsibilities include:
- Conduct strategic research on competitors utilizing opensource intelligence and subscription databases
- Synthesize and analyze research findings to develop competitor profile writeups
- Facilitate Black Hat Reviews and secure management buyin to overarching competitive positioning strategy
- Brief senior leadership throughout capture process on Steampunks competitive positioning and relative win probability (PWin)
- Develop Pricetowin (PTW) models based on understanding of the bidding environment and of Steampunks unique solutions
- Identify/analyze/model competition through research and analysis including SWOT analysis
- Support win strategy development performing gap analysis of our market/industry position
- Conduct market research on trends regulations innovations and key competitors
- Collect and analyze data on government customer budgets spending and industry benchmarks to support topdown Price to Win (PTW) analysis
- Collect and analyze competitor cost/price data to support bottomup PTW analysis
- Interfacing confidently with different corporate functional groups such as Sales Program Management Finance Contracts Operations and Senior Executives.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree and 8 years of related experience
- Experience in the federal government contracting market
- Experience in opensource research analysis and data synthesis
- Familiarity with acquisition strategies contracting and various price buildup components
- Experience conducting competitive intelligence and market research
- Strong presentation/communications and interpersonal skills required
- Experience with Office365 including SharePoint
Preferred Requirements:
- Experience with the federal IT services competitive bid process
- Advanced Excel capabilities
- Experience developing visual representations of competitive positioning for executive consumption and analysis
Steampunk is a federal contractor subject to Executive Order 14042 and Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 52.22399 implementing the order. Therefore this position requires full vaccination for COVID19 except in jurisdictions where the mandate is barred by a court ordered injunction.
