****Applicants seeking shortterm or parttime work with the University Hawaii may apply for Casual Hire positions which include administrative professional and technical (APT) or instructionaltype positions. Because of the temporary nature of these appointments Casual Hire employees are not eligible for most benefits as provided to regular BOR and Civil Service employees such as paid leave and holidays. Casual Hire appointments may last for up to 89 days for fulltime employees and up to 1 calendar year for parttime employees.

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Assist in preparing focus group discussion guides student forms and protocols surveys outreach materials and presentations while also tracking various databases.

2. Assist in verifying completeness appropriateness and accuracy of data and traces sources of error in documents surveys and procedures.

3. Obtains followup materials from study participants and/or their health providers.

3. Works with the project team to develop test implement and monitor community educational projects.

4. Assist in developing testing monitoring and evaluating materials made for Outreach Core activities. Monitors usage statistics in the UHCC databases.

5. Other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Possession of a baccalaureate degree in health science and one 1 year of professional work experience in public health health outreach or health research setting involving the use of computer software for data entry and or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  2. Demonstrated ability to complete tasks in an effective and timely manner.
  3. Demonstrated ability to operate a personal computer and apply word processing software including Microsoft Office.
