Job Description
Would you like to build impactful mobile software building blocks that empowers hundreds of engineers build and ship new delightful features every day Last mile Flex mobile application is one of the fastest growing strategic businesses within Amazon. Our team is responsible for creating the best delivery experience for transporters wherever they deliver packages using their favorite Android or iOS devices. As a Software Development Engineer within the Flex Mobile Foundations organization you will contribute to the next generation mobile foundation to power fast fluid and interactive experiences on mobile devices worldwide.
Key job responsibilities
As a key member of the Last Mile Delivery Technology you will be an innovator playing a direct role in shaping and building products that partner teams rely on and customers love on top of Amazons technology. You will be part of a strong team in a fastpaced startup like environment where agile development is embraced innovation is encouraged largescale projects are the norm and worklife balance is a top priority. We aim to work smarter not harder and regularly iterate to maintain and improve worklife balance. As an SDEII at Amazon you will have the opportunity to positively impact millions of customers by identifying opportunities designing solutions collaborating with worldclass engineers and delivering large impactful endtoend projects and improvements.
A day in the life
The team is a strong closeknit group with a focus on learning growing and delivering results together. We have regular architecture and knowledge shares and our high level of team trust makes this the ideal environment to lead and grow to the next level. As the platform team we build the backbone of the Amazon Flex App supporting 12 feature teams hundreds of thousands of transporters and millions of deliveries.
3 years of noninternship professional software development experience
2 years of noninternship design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Experience programming with at least one software programming language
3 years of application development experience on iOS
Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent background in data structures algorithms objectoriented design and systems architecture.
3 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent
Ideal candidate has experience with real time communication and chat applications globally distributed utilizing AWS services.
2 years of design and implementation experience with Kotlin
