The Defect Prevention and Reconciliation (DP&R) organization aims to build innovative technology products that identify resolve and prevent defects from entering Amazons fulfillment supply chain. We eliminate operational waste and reduce cost accelerating our fulfillment processes and improving customer experience. We are building a future where we capture analyze and explain every inventory defect across all stages of the supply chain (i.e. inbound distribution storage fulfillment returns). We are looking to hire an experienced leader to join as Senior Program Manager in DP&R team. You will be a natural selfstarter who is comfortable supporting large complex cross functional programs and will have a true handson approach program management and analytical skills and be an effective communicator.
This role is focused on conceptualizing and leading the strategic and operational programmatic initiatives driven by data analysis. As a Senior Program Manager you will own the establishment of new processes and drive alignment across a global set of partner teams to improve defect prevention space. You are responsible for defining and delivering important programs with broad crossorganizational crossregional or significant business impact. Your work focuses on efforts that solve significantly complex or endemic problems. As a Senior Program Manager you are trusted to operate with complete independence and are often assigned to focus on areas where the strategy has not yet been defined with an expectation to directly lead the design of the solution implementation and delivery of a highly complicated crossfunctional project in an ambiguous or new business area. You consistently bring datadriven business and strategic judgment to decisions. You will be responsible for driving to launch and identifying opportunities to enhance capabilities that improve the quality scalability and customer satisfaction of our products.
Our ideal candidate is a selfstarter and is comfortable conceptualizing and leading complex initiatives from end to end. You should have proven experience in strategy largescale entrepreneurial innovation working cross functionally with program/product managers and people leadership. This role requires comfort in ambiguous situations exercising business judgment ability to influence crossfunctional and remotely located teams customercentric and creative mindset and analytical skills are essential.
Key job responsibilities
Document and track progress against product/program launch milestones highlight blockers track risks & issues as well as path to green or mitigation plans; Report progress for weekly monthly quarterly and annual business reviews.
Ability to root cause opportunities and extract insights using anecdotes and a data driven approach managing escalations from endtoend.
Partner with product team on product development lifecycle through key stages
Support process improvements by suggesting metrics to measure overall team performance efficiency and workload.
Write business documents and global reporting of metrics and insights.
Ensure clear communication and coordination of both risks and mitigation mechanisms with global stakeholders across internal and external teams.
Analyze and solve business problems at their root stepping back to understand the broader context.
Identify prioritize and communicate key areas for service and business improvement along the key operations metrics.
Anticipating bottlenecks providing escalation management anticipating and making tradeoffs and balancing business needs versus technical or operational constraints.
Build partnerships with crossfunctional stakeholders to drive aligned vision prioritization and accountability.
5 years of program or project management experience
Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
Experience owning program strategy end to end delivery and communicating results to senior leadership
Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization
Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements
5 years of driving process improvements experience
Masters degree or MBA in business operations human resources adult education organizational development instructional design or related field
Experience working cross functionally with tech and nontech teams

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $104100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
