We are looking for developers with expertise and passion for building large scale distributed systems. Experience with storage subsystems Transaction Management scaleout faulttolerant systems distributed systems operating systems large scale data analytics and operating complex services running in the cloud are all pluses.

In this role you will have responsibility for:
Translating functional and technical requirements into detailed architecture and design
Coding and testing complex system components
Participating in code and design reviews to maintain our high development standards
Working with other teams to deliver and operate large scale distributed services in the cloud
Overall system architecture scalability reliability and performance
Mentoring other engineers defining our challenging technical culture and helping to build a fastgrowing team

5 years of noninternship professional software development experience
5 years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
5 years of leading design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Experience as a mentor tech lead or leading an engineering team

5 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $151300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
