Job Description

Neumont College of Computer Science is seeking a dynamic and experienced Cyber Security Curriculum Designer (temp/contract position) that could evolve into a fulltime employee Instructor position depending on the candidate. This role is central to the development and delivery of our Cybersecurity Certificate Program and provides an exciting opportunity to shape curriculum instruct future professionals and work within a studentfocused projectbased learning environment.

POSITION OVERVIEW

As a Cyber Security Instructor you will:

  • Design develop and update cybersecurity curriculum.
  • Deliver engaging handson instruction aligned with Neumonts active learning methodology.
  • Evaluate student performance provide timely and constructive feedback and mentor students individually or in groups.
  • Collaborate with faculty and academic leadership to continually improve course offerings and student outcomes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Curriculum & Instruction

  • Design and maintain courses within the cybersecurity certificate program.
  • Deliver instruction that supports student engagement and mastery of learning objectives.
  • Develop assessments that accurately measure student learning.
  • Provide timely grading and individualized feedback.
  • Maintain uptodate materials syllabus and grades in the Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Hold regular office hours and support students outside of class.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

  • Participate in faculty meetings and committees as needed.
  • Contribute to the improvement of teaching strategies and projectbased learning initiatives.
  • Work closely with academic leadership to identify areas for course and personal development.
  • Utilize student and peer feedback to enhance teaching effectiveness.
  • Support peer observation and mentorship activities.

Additional Duties May Include

  • Supervising courses or student projects.
  • Participating in curriculum redesign and program evaluation.
  • Supporting academic metrics and reporting.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelors degree in Cybersecurity Information Systems or related preferred.
  • Relevant industry certifications: A Security CySA and other CompTIA certifications required.
  • Teaching experience is a strong plus.

Experience

  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant industry experience OR
  • Minimum of 8 years of exceptional professional experience in the field.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles tools and industry standards.
  • Experience with projectbased learning and/or curriculum development.
  • Excellent communication organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in team collaboration and conflict resolution.
  • Ability to engage diverse learners and foster a supportive academic environment.

WORK SCHEDULE & REPORTING

  • Fulltime: 40 hours/week (exempt) or parttime based on availability.
  • Occasional evenings and weekends may be required with advance notice.
  • Reports to: Vice President of Academic Operations.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities: None.
