We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Nursery Farm Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing the production of our nursery stock in alignment with sales forecasts and market demands. This role is critical in ensuring that our nursery meets its production goals while maintaining the highest standards of quality and efficiency.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Production Planning:Partner with the production planning team to implement comprehensive production plans that align with sales forecasts and market demands. Monitor and adjust plans as necessary to account for changes in market conditions and sales trends.
- Maximize ROI:Partner with the team to create a production plan and product mix to maximize growing areas yielding the highest return on investment per square foot.
- Sales Collaboration:Work with the sales team to understand customer needs preferences and sales targets. Ensure that production schedules meet the timing and quantity requirements of sales orders.
- Inventory Collaboration:Partner with the Inventory Manager to oversee crop availability levels and maintenance. Ensure optimal stock levels are maintained to meet sales demands without overproduction focusing on saleable products.
- Quality Control:Implement and enforce strict quality control measures to ensure that all nursery stock meets the companys standards for health growth and appearance.
- Staff Supervision:Lead and manage the nursery production team providing guidance training and support to ensure high performance and job satisfaction. Provide leadership training and innovation focusing on horticultural excellence succession planning safety growing our people driving ownership and decisionmaking.
- Resource Allocation:Efficiently allocate resources including labor materials and equipment to maximize productivity and minimize waste. Create and manage the labor budget.
- Operational Efficiencies:Identify and implement strategies to enhance operational efficiencies across all aspects of nursery operations. Continuously seek opportunities to streamline processes reduce waste and improve productivity.
- Reporting:Prepare and present regular reports on production metrics inventory status and other key performance indicators to senior management.
- Compliance:Ensure all production activities comply with relevant industry regulations and standards including safety and environmental guidelines. Oversee and manage the SANC program.
- Product Development:Collaborate with the R&D and sales teams to identify and introduce new products to the nurserys offerings. Ensure that new products align with market demands and customer preferences and oversee their successful integration into the production process.
- Product Evaluation:Work with sales and production teams to evaluate nonperforming product lines and make recommendations for elimination.
- Collaboration:Partner with other departments to maximize the farms quality efficiencies and staff development.
- Teaching and Development:Create opportunities for continuous learning and improvement within the team. Encourage innovation and the sharing of best practices. Lead by example and promote a culture of excellence and accountability.
- 30/60/90 Planning:Develop and implement 30/60/90day plans to set clear goals and expectations for the team. Regularly review and adjust these plans to ensure alignment with overall production objectives and market demands.
- LMA S:Manage and reduce s levels.
Qualifications:
- Education:Bachelors degree in horticulture agriculture business administration or a related field or equivalent work experience.
- Experience:Minimum of 5 years of experience in nursery production management or a similar role with a proven track record of successful production planning and team leadership.
Skills:
Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with the ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with crossfunctional teams.
Proficiency in production planning software and tools.
Strong organizational and time management abilities.
