Job Description:
Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic selfmotivated Vehicle Engineer who thrives in a fastpaced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of engineering tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Oakland California.
Accountabilities:
- Ensure the assessment of the Vehicle Design in order to achieve full integration with other subsystems and components;
- Ensure the monitoring of Vehicle production and testing process in order to control key factors affecting interfaces and system performances.
- Execute the Verification activities of Vehicle interface documents according to the V&V Plan
- Participate to on site tests relevant to the vehicle Integration (e.g. advice to issue resolution)
- Contribute to the functional requirements fulfilment in Design and Testing phase and to the resolution of the interfaces among the subsystems mainly involving vehicle providing detailed
- description of the main integrated functions as well as main operating scenarios.
Required Skills:
35 years experience in on board equipment installation and testing.
Knowledge in on board equipment installation and testing in particular in electrical wiring functional scheme review and mechanical installation.
Ability to work in a complex project and teamwork skills.
Education:
Bachelors degree in Electrical Electronic or Computer Engineering or
Information Technology or Equivalent Technical Background
Languages:
EnglishProficient
In accordance with the DOTs FRA and FTA programs Hitachis substance screening program tests preemployment candidates and current employees as required for safetysensitive positions.
The salary range for this position is $108000 $162000 per year. Final pay is determined by the candidates experience skillset and ability level internal equity and location.
