Job Description:
Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic selfmotivated Senior Vehicle Engineer who thrives in a fastpaced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of engineering tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Oakland California.
Accountabilities:
Ensure the definition of the Vehicle System Architecture by theidentification of the interfaces among the main onboardtechnological subsystems.
Ensure that the Vehicle design is oriented to maintenanceeffectiveness and to use of expert diagnostic systems
Execute the Verification activities of vehicle interface documentsaccording to the V&V Plan
Ensure the assessment of the Rolling Stocks Design in order toachieve full integration with other subsystems and components;
Ensure the monitoring of Vehicle production and testing processin order to control key factors affecting interfaces and systemperformances.
Participate to on site tests relevant to the vehicle Integration to issue resolution)
Ensure the proposal of improvements and updates of the designstandards about Rolling Stock interfaces in accordance withprocess and technology improvements
With regards to Rolling Stocks contribute to the functionalrequirements fulfilment in Design and Testing phase and to theresolution of the interfaces among Rolling Stock and the other
subsystems by providing detailed description of the mainintegrated functions as well as main operating scenarios.
KPI trends of the projects about Requirements Management
Required Skills:
- 5 10 years experience in on board equipment installation and testing.
- Knowledge in electrical wiring functional scheme review and mechanical installation.
- Ability to work in a complex project and teamwork skills.
Education:
Bachelors degree in Electrical Electronic or Computer Engineering orInformation Technology orEquivalent Technical Background
Languages:
EnglishProficient
In accordance with the DOTs FRA and FTA programs Hitachis substance screening program tests preemployment candidates and current employees as required for safetysensitive positions.
The salary range for this position is $121000 $182000 per year. Final pay is determined by the candidates experience skillset and ability level internal equity and location. CA
