Role and Responsibilities:
Join our friendly and fun team as a Cashier at LaSalle Market! As the first point of contact for our customers youll be the one who makes their experience sweet and memorable. Youll play an essential role in providing excellent customer service handling transactions and creating a welcoming environment for everyone who walks through our doors.
- Greet customers warmly take orders and ensure every guest has a pleasant experience from start to finish.
- Accurately process cash credit and debit card transactions and provide customers with change or receipts as needed.
- Stay informed about the menu including special offers and seasonal flavors to assist customers with their orders and inquiries.
- Keep the cashier station clean organized and stocked with necessary supplies throughout the day.
- Help customers with any special requests offer recommendations and resolve any issues or concerns promptly and politely.
- Work closely with other team members to ensure smooth operations and efficient customer service especially during busy hours.
- Ensure all cash transactions are processed accurately and securely with attention to detail when counting and handling cash.
- Help promote daily specials loyalty programs and new products to customers encouraging them to try new items.
- Follow all health safety and food handling regulations to maintain a clean and safe working environment for both staff and customers.
Qualifications:
- No experience No Problem!
- Friendly approachable and excellent communication skills with the ability to handle customer inquiries and complaints with professionalism.
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and provide correct change.
- Comfortable working in a fastpaced environment while maintaining focus on customer service and accuracy.
- Willingness to work shifts including weekends and holidays as needed.
Preferred Skills:
- Previous cashier customer service or retail experience is preferred but not required.
- Understanding of inventory levels at the cashier station ensuring adequate stock of supplies and flagging low inventory.
- Efficiently managing multiple tasks (e.g. processing orders answering questions and maintaining a clean workspace) during peak hours.
- Ability to work seamlessly with kitchen staff and other team members to ensure smooth service especially during busy times.
- Experience using Point of Sale systems to process sales returns and exchanges ensuring accurate records of all transactions.
Physical & Environmental Demands:
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time typically throughout the entire shift.
- Ability to lift and carry items such as supplies or small boxes weighing up to 2530 lbs.
- Frequent use of hands for tasks like operating a register preparing orders and restocking supplies.
- Ability to bend stoop and reach to access supplies or restock items behind the counter or on shelves.
- Exposure to warm temperatures around the caf or ice cream machines and occasional cold temperatures when handling frozen items.
- Ability to work in a moderately noisy environment with background music kitchen sounds and customer chatter.
- Ensure that the work area remains clean and safe following hygiene and food safety guidelines.
