The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) Northern Region Highways and Aviation is looking for an Equipment Operator Journey 1 to help us
Keep Alaska Moving!
What you will be doing:
As part of the maintenance crew you will be responsible for ensuring the upkeep of state highways and airports within the district. Your tasks will include operating and maintaining both heavy and lightduty equipment as well as performing essential maintenance on infrastructure such as road surfaces bridges culverts signs barricades fences and vegetation. You will also handle traffic control duties including flagging to ensure safety on the job.
In addition you will be involved in snow and ice removal from highways bridges and city streets using plow trucks and loaders as well as sanding roads with sand trucks during winter operations. Youll rely on radio communication to receive work assignments coordinate tasks and ensure that all duties are completed efficiently and safely.

This position is based in Tok Alaska within the Tok District a region known as the Gateway to the Interior.
