Job Description

We are looking for a Federal Nuclear Expertise (FNE) Program Administrator to apply your talents and expertise in a dynamic and fastpaced environment. In this role you will work independently to plan develop perform and coordinate a wide range of advanced and diverse administrative activities and complex projects with changing variables and multiple factors that are not easily answered by standard procedures. This position reports to the Nuclear Threat Reduction (N) Program within the Global Security Principal Directorate.

You will

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for program matters; plan execute and/or provide oversight to a variety of operational and organizational requirements and activities.
  • Participate in Program planning and operational issues and workforce activities; develop methods for successfully meeting Program deliverables.
  • Lead projects; assess set and establish protocol and procedures to ensure compliance with governing safeguards and security policies.
  • Coordinate and handle all administrative business and organizational aspects of Program both at LLNL and in Nevada including setting agendas adherence to various sites security safety and access requirements transportation lodging and meals.
  • Coordinate and execute all operational aspects of the Program and resolve any issues travel to Nevada at least four times a year.
  • Prepare material including correspondence to Program sponsors attendees presenters and site managers including documents charts and reports.
  • Establish and maintain complex databases spreadsheets and tracking systems to ensure action items are completed by the required due date and follow up on pending items.
  • Solve complex problems develop and implement new techniques and procedures interpret policy formulate recommendations and establish procedures.
  • Transport visitors at LLNL and Nevada for tours and meetings.
  • Gather interpret and analyze attendee feedback and data to provide informed recommendations for enhancing course content and delivery.
  • Contribute to planning budgets and expenditures working closely with the TNF Program Administrator and Resource Managers across multiple organizations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications :

  • This position requires an active Department of Energy (DOE) Qlevel clearance or active TopSecret Clearance issued by another U.S. government agency at the time of hire.
  • Specialized operational and organizational skills including detail oriented flexibility and experience independently coordinating and prioritizing multiple and complex work activities often with conflicting deadlines.  
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with short deadlines and frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to travel to Nevada at least four times a year. 
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal verbal and written communication skills necessary to handle sensitive and confidential issues with tact discretion and mature judgment to interact with a diverse group of personalities and disciplines at all levels internal and external to the Laboratory.
  • Demonstrated skills in leading administrative projects tracking compiling and monitoring data.
  • Ability and initiative to approach and resolve difficult issues using creative problemsolving skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of safety and security policies and compliance.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of computers and associated software. Expert use of MS office applications.
  • Experience developing complex reports for use in management decision making.
  • This position requires a valid California drivers license.
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting research analyzing data sets and compiling findings into clear actionable results or reports.  
  • Proven ability to track and analyze metrics contribute to budget planning manage projects and prepare detailed program reports to support organizational goals.
