Eastern State Hospital located in scenic Williamsburg Virginia was founded in 1773 with a wellintentional emphasis on community focused mental health care. This state of the art campus situated on 500 acres consists of two patient care buildings with 300 patients and a highly skilled staff of over 900. Eastern State Hospital is part of the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS) system and is accredited by the Joint Commission.
Eastern State Hospital invites qualified applicants for the position of Trades Technician III.
This position is required to work Evenings 4PM to 12AM Weekdays).
This position reports to the Trades Manager for providing a safe and comfortable environment for residents and staff. This position conducts general maintenance for the Carpentry Plumbing Electrical and Mechanical shops by repairing and maintaining properly functioning equipment. PMs and WO Repairs for Retherm and Ice Machines with ability to act in the capacity of essential personnel during emergency/crisis situations.
Minimum Qualifications
Ability to read and interpret blueprints diagrams and schematics.
Ability to troubleshoot and repair various types of plumbing and electrical equipment and maintenance methods pertinent to the general building maintenance field.
Additional Considerations
General knowledge of; plumbing electrical carpentry skills general knowledge of HVAC systems is helpful but not required.

This position is considered essential personnel and would be required to work in the event of an emergency pandemic or facility need. All ESH positions may be required to work different shifts to include nights weekends and holidays and/or overtime as requested in the event of an emergency.

These positions are hourly/wage and not eligible for benefits. Hourly (wage) employees may not work more than 29 hours a week and are limited to working 1500 hours in a year.
