- Graduation from a 2 year college accredited post secondary institute or technical institute program with coursework related to marketing journalism communications or public relations
- Minimum 2 years experiences in a public relations public affairs or public information position
Skills required for success:
- Experience in a municipal government or public sector environment
- Strong project management skills
- Experience with digital marketing tools and platforms
- A proven ability to deliver quality marketing communication products and advice on time
- Experience in delivering marketing communications materials
- Working knowledge of communications marketing advertising media social media and design coordination event planning and print production
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
- Ability to establish effective working relationships with staff at all levels and external stakeholders and partners
- Ability to work in a fastpaced environment with multiple projects and competing deadlines
- An ability to gather technical information from clients to translate into clear concise and easy to understand marketing/communications content
