Software Development Engineer Amazon Devices Connectivity SW

The Amazon Connectivity team designs connectivity software solutions for Amazon devices encompassing wide range of products including the Fire TV family of devices.

This position is for a seasoned Software Development Engineer in the WiFi SW connectivity organization. You can be part of a fastpaced agile and innovative team who is bringing new connectivity experiences to the exciting range of devices in a startup like environment.

Key job responsibilities
As a Software Development Engineer Connectivity you will work closely with crossfunctional teams to innovate and deliver highperformance lowpower stable connectivity platform for world class consumer products. You must be responsive flexible and able to succeed within an open and collaborative peer environment. In this role you will:

Design develop and enhance WiFi software for Amazons consumer products;
Optimize WiFi performance and power consumption for connectivity platforms;
Engage with vendors to integrate WiFi chipset solutions;
Collaborate with other software teams to design and deliver unique customer features on top of WiFi for nextgen Amazon products;
Provide Amazon Customer Support technical assistance to trouble customer issues;

3 years of noninternship design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java C or C# including objectoriented design
Bachelors degree or equivalent
Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle including coding standards software architectures code reviews source control management continuous deployments testing and operational excellence
Handson experience in IEEE802.11/WiFi protocols and extensions Experience with WiFi development and debugging tools such as wireless sniffers and protocol analyzers Experience with Android and Linux development on kernel device drivers and frameworks

Have prior experience with WiFi solutions from one or more major WiFi chipset vendors Strong knowledge of TCP/IP internals and common Networking protocols such as DHCP DNS HTTP and etc.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
