Summary of the role:
The Senior Tax Analyst is part of the North America tax team and will report to the Corporate Income Tax role will be responsible for collaborating with the North American tax team on internal and outsourced direct tax compliance and projects impacting the North America region as well as perform monthly tax accounting requirements.
The ideal candidate will have proven accounting and technology skills and a general tax technical background while having a roll up their sleeves enthusiasm and work ethic. They will assist in preparing organizing and providing requested supporting documentation to our thirdparty compliance providers prepare tax accounting entries and account reconciliations and work with global departments to play a key role in companywide projects and ongoing process improvements. We seek a selfstarter who can manage multiple competing priorities.
In this role youll:
Work with internal departments to obtain fixed asset transaction details to prepare monthly import templates for use in fixed asset management software. Reconcile system reports to prepare and maintain monthly fixed asset roll forwards.
Prepare required franchise and other tax accrual accounting journal entries and monthly tax account reconciliations.
Assist the manager with tracking calculating and timely remitting required federal/state/local tax payments to respective tax agencies and prepare and record associated journal entries.
Assist the tax manager with outsourced tax filings. Prepare and facilitate supporting documentation including state apportionment intercompany transactions trial balances etc. Effectively communicate verbally and electronically with global departments to obtain relevant data efficiently and timely meet internal and external deliverable deadlines.
Assess the current tax systems and procedures for efficiency and work with the team to develop improvements where needed.
Respond to various federal state and local tax notices
Research various federal state and local income tax issues
Assist with data gathering for federal and state income tax audit document requests.
Work cross functionally to manage and timely meet deadlines pertaining to FBAR compliance
Consult with and assist the team on company driven global tax projects and initiatives including tax planning and implementations of newly enacted procedures and guidelines software systems entity restructurings etc.
About the ideal candidate:
Bachelors degree in accounting/taxation and/or equivalent work experience
Fluency in spoken and written business English is required
Minimum of 3 years of corporate inhouse tax and/or public accounting experience.
Technical Competencies:
Expert in advanced Excel skills (Pivot Sumif Vlookup)
SAP S4Hana experience a plus
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
General knowledge of tax provisions
Expert technology system skills
Expert in manipulating large amounts of system extracted data
Experience collaborating with local tax consultants on direct tax matters
Experience collaborating with auditors
Thrives in a high paced environment selfstarter with roll up your sleeve attitude.
Ability to communicate issues in a clear and effective manner
