Job Description
Amazon is investing heavily in building a world class advertising business and we are responsible for defining and delivering a collection of selfservice performance advertising products that drive discovery and sales. Our products are strategically important to our Retail and Marketplace businesses driving long term growth. We deliver billions of ad impressions and millions of clicks daily and are breaking fresh ground to create worldclass products.
Key job responsibilities
You will build Tier1 services to handle millions of requests per day while maintaining response latencies in the milliseconds and meeting strict SLA requirements (high operational standards). You will develop distributed solutions with service oriented architecture to build high performance platforms to service worlds largest selection to millions of customers. Our systems and algorithms operate on massive datasets using distributed frameworks. In this role you will be design new and rebuild existing solutions for the fast growing scale of the next generation of advertising services. You will have the opportunity to work with Principal engineers and to mentor and grow junior engineers.
You will not merely go through the full software development cycle but more importantly drive appropriate technology choices for the business lead the way for continuous innovation and shape the future of ecommerce.

Amazon Ads operates at the intersection of eCommerce and advertising offering a rich array of digital advertising solutions to help our customers find and discover anything they want to buy. The Brand Identity programs mission to to provide accurate brand mappings while enabling advertisers to selfcurate and manage their brands. We map brands to products advertisers creatives and more and work closely with a science team that leverages these mappings to generate behavioral/contextual signals.
3 years of noninternship professional software development experience
2 years of noninternship design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Experience programming with at least one software programming language
3 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity signon payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
