Department Summary

The Department of the History of Art & Architecture (HAA) offers undergraduate Masters and PhD programs in the history theory and criticism of art architecture and visual culture. It is also home to the Graduate Certificate in Museum Studies.

The University of Oregon is one of only two Pacific Northwest members of the Association of American Universities and holds the distinction of a very high research activity ranking in the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education. Position Summary

The Department of the History of Art and Architecture at the University of Oregon is seeking qualified applicants for our pro tem teaching pool. Positions are limited duration appointments and potentially renewable for up to a total of three years. These appointments may be contingent on funding. Salary is dependent on education and experience.

Minimum Requirements

Masters degree in Art and/or Architectural History or other related field required prior to appointment; all but dissertation (ABD) may also be considered.

Professional Competencies

Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively and facilitate student learning.
Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with diverse faculty and student populations.

Preferred Qualifications

Excellent record of scholarly creative or other professional accomplishment in relevant field.
Prior college or universitylevel teaching experience.
