Job Description

POSITION TITLE: WGA PROGRAM NAVIGATOR


JOB SUMMARY
Under the general direction of the Apprenticeship Retention Services Program Manager the Program Navigator (WA Grant for Apprenticeship) will independently complete routine and nonroutine processes including meeting with potential participants approving and determining funding as well as tracking and recording expenses for the Washington College Grant program. The Program Navigator will work with WG staff ANEW staff and participants. This person will perform with a high level of efficiency and accuracy and explain the process to participants staff and the public. The Program Navigator follows program agency and grant guidelines as well as ANEW internal procedures.


The successful candidate will possess strong interpersonal communication qualities be committed to working with diverse populations and provide excellent customer service to a broad range of cultures. This position advances ANEWs values for fair and culturally competent service delivery innovation efficient application of resources building a culture of performance and expanding opportunities to seek input listen and respond to industry and residents.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Serve as Point of Contact for Washington College Grant
  • Responsible for orientations of program participants interviews screening and determining eligibility
  • Determine participant eligibility as per agency guidelines and ensure that maximum funding amounts and timelines are not exceeded
  • Schedule appointments to meet with participants 1on1 to advise them of the award their responsibilities and how to access funding
  • Monitor participants satisfactory progress track current standing and RSI requirements to program completion
  • Verify participant employment status and quarterly participant selfattestation
  • Maintain records both electronically and paper hard copies for auditing purposes
  • Ensure participant data is correct and up to date for reporting
  • Communicate award status with participant WGA Program Manager and WGA Finance Assistant
  • Submit monthly reporting to WGA Program Manager and/or senior leadership
  • Approve and coordinate with Bookkeeper to disburse funds as requested by participant.
  • Ability to problem solve and make decisions
  • Work independently and as a member of a team
  • Perform outreach activities 25 of the time including assisting apprenticeship program through the enrollment process into the WA Grant for Apprenticeship Program
  • Prioritize and organize workload
  • Manage time and projects to meet deadlines
  • Perform other duties as assigned


MINIMUM / REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma or equivalent required (Associates bachelors or masters degree preferred)
  • Minimum of 2 years of industry related support service experience
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook Access SharePoint) Salesforce and general office equipment
  • Ability to travel 25 of the time when necessary
  • Demonstrated commitment to economic racial and social justice and an understanding of the ways institutions and systems hurt communities of color through both conscious and unconscious bias
  • Flexibility and adaptability in working with a growing nonprofit
  • Strong communication and administrative skills with a proven track record of managing multiple projects
  • Experience in working with collaborative partnerships


CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Background screening through Washington State Patrol
  • Ability to work flexible schedule to include evening and or weekend
  • Proof of citizenship or other authorization for employment
  • Continuation of employment is contingent upon successfully performing work described
  • Continuation of this position is dependent on achievement of performance goals and availability of funding


WORK LOCATION: ANEW Tukwila Training Center and Satellite locations as assigned. This position may include up to 25 of travel. This position is eligible for hybrid upon agreement with the Director of Strategic Partnerships.
WORK SCHEDULE: This is a fulltime exempt position. Regular work week is 40 hours Monday through Friday business hours. Occasional evenings weekends and some travel may be required.
REPORTS TO: Apprenticeship Retention Services Program Manager


SALARY
This position is an exempt salary position with a starting salary range of $68993 $73226.66 Per Year. This position is grant funded and continuation of this position is subject to funding.


The starting salary is based on education and experience.




BENEFITS

This position is an exempt position. The person in this position is expected to serve a 90day probation period. Benefits will not be included until and unless the position is made permanent which is contingent upon performance evaluation funding board direction and potential redevelopment of the organization and its training/service delivery models. If the position is more than 30/hours per week employer paid medical benefits will include medical dental and vision benefits.


A portion of the medical premium is made by the employee through a pretax contribution at time of payroll posting. Employees at 30/hours a week or greater qualify for full benefits and pay a pretax contribution of $80 per month. Additional employer paid benefits include basic life insurance vacation sick leave holiday pay and taxes as required by law. ANEW also contributes a 4 match to a 401k after one year of employment.
