Senior Software Test Engineer - Java Cordis Technology

Job Description

Primary Job Responsibilities:

• Analyze Review and understand software requirement for manual and automation testability
• Interact with product management project management and development teams to develop a strong understanding of the project and testing objectives
• Validate defect fixes; analyze impact of the fixes and the issue to closure.
• Design and create test conditions and scripts to address business and technical use cases
• Use existing tools and techniques to execute test cases and build/script new tools for performing testing/validation function
• Execute and analysis automation test results.
• Document track and escalate issues as appropriate using Quality Center or similar tools/means
• Review requirements specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback
• Create detailed comprehensive and wellstructured test plans and test cases
• Estimate prioritize plan and coordinate testing activities
• Design develop and execute automation scripts using open source tools
• Identify record document thoroughly and track bugs
• Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved
• Update test cases based on the discovered defects
• Update test automation based on the updated test cases
• Provide inputs to the team in order to improve the test process
• Log own time in the project management software or time tracking system
• Report work progress and any problems faced to the Test Lead or Project Manager as required
• Monitor all team members and provide necessary advice and guidance.
• Coach team members and motivate them to produce desired results.

Required Skills & Attributes:

• Strong work experience in development and/or testing role.
• Proven working experience in software development
• Hands on Experience in Black Box Testing Performance testing Regression Load Testing.
• Experience in working on Open source tools.
• Proven working experience in software quality assurance
• Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies tools and processes
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Technical background and an understanding of the Automation industry
• Knowledge of automated testing tools
• Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple diverse projects simultaneously
• Must be flexible independent and selfmotivated
• Ability to take proactive steps in managing problems.

Desired Skills & Experience:

• Overall software test experience of 35 years. Should be interested to make career in testing domain
• College or University degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
• Expertise in testing knowledge/skills (manual automation functional nonfunctional performance load and stress).
• Hands on Experience in Black Box Testing Performance testing Regression Load Testing.
• Experience in working on Open source tools.
• Good analytical and problem solving skills (able to analyze software requirements)
• Sound knowledge of test methodologies related to different phases of the software test life cycle
