Job Description
The College of Education and Human Development at the University of Nevada Reno invites applications for a nontenure track Lecturer II / Teaching Assistant Professor position in the Counselor Education Program to begin in Fall 2025. Responsibilities include some or all of the following: (a) assessment director and/or liaison for CACREP accreditation (b) teaching graduate courses in counseling (c) providing clinical supervision (d) providing academic/track specific advising (e) serving on masters and doctoral students graduate committees (f) engaging in programrelated grant writing (g) serving as a core faculty team member (h) participating in counselor education program service and leadership (i) engaging in local and professional service and (j) serving on program department college and/or university level committees.

Required Qualifications
Lecturer II Masters degree in counselor education from a CACREPaccredited program or have entered the counselor education field prior to 2013.
Teaching Assistant Professor The successful candidate must hold an earned doctorate by August 2025 in counselor education from a CACREPaccredited program or have entered the counselor education field prior to 2013.
The successful candidate must hold the appropriate license/credential for their specialty area (i.e. School Counseling Marriage and Family Therapy and/or Clinical Mental Health) and must be eligible for licensure in the state of Nevada.
The candidate must demonstrate the capability to use principles of the science of learning to effectively teach graduate courses in the counselor education program and engage in service and leadership responsibilities to maintain program accreditation.
The candidate must have a depth of clinical experience.
A clearly defined counselor educator identity that is aligned with at least one of our program specialization areas.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with CACREP accreditation and the 2024 CACREP standards.
Experience with program assessment or the desire to lead the program assessment process.
Engagement with counselor education and/or national counseling organizations.
Ability to supervise both masters and doctoral students during clinical experiences.
Remote/online teaching experience.
Collegiality is valued and expected.

The Counselor Education Program is housed in the Department of Human Development Family Science and Counseling in the College of Education and Human Development. The mission of the Counselor Education Program is to educate competent culturally aware ethical counselors who will provide exceptional services in both public and private settings to meet the needs of an increasingly diverse offer three masters specializations (marriage family and couples counseling; school counseling; and clinical mental health counseling) and a PhD in Education/Counselor Education and Supervision All programs are CACREP accredited.
