The Production Manager will be responsible for optimizing kiln and finish mill operations supervising control room operations and ensuring strict compliance with safety and environmental regulations. This role requires strong leadership technical expertise and a focus on continuous improvement to meet production goals while maintaining the highest standards of safety and efficiency.
Responsibilities:
Production Oversight:Manage all production activities in raw mill coal mill kiln finish mills and associated support equipment.
Safety Compliance:Ensure strict adherence to all safety and environmental regulations as well as company policies including conducting crew safety meetings and required inspections.
Equipment Shutdowns:Oversee the timely and costeffective completion of equipment shutdowns (e.g. refractory kiln and preheater cooler finish mill).
Production Goals:Ensure operations meet or exceed quality production goals while maintaining efficiency and safety standards.
Leadership:Provide leadership to the Production department by setting priorities goals and motivating staff to achieve objectives.
Collaboration:Foster cooperation between maintenance quality and production departments to ensure smooth operations.
Budget Management:Design and plan production area budgets including monthly and annual forecasts.
Continuous Improvement:Identify operational opportunities provide technical assistance and follow up on improvements.
Collective Bargaining Agreement:Administer the Collective Bargaining Agreement including participation in disciplinary actions and grievance processes.
Performance Appraisals:Set annual goals and objectives with production personnel conducting performance appraisals and development opportunities.
Daily Operations Reports:Review and analyze Daily Operations Reports to identify areas for improvement.
Technical Support:Provide technical support after hours when initiated by the Production department.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Education:Bachelors degree in a technical/engineering field (preferably in Engineering or a hard science) or equivalent work experience.
Experience:Minimum of 10 years of experience in industrial process operations. Cement plant experience preferred; alternative experience in power plants refineries or mining also considered.
Industry Knowledge:Strong knowledge of pyro process and operations within a cement plant.
Leadership:Proven e$15 k xperience leading teams setting goals and managing performance.
Problem Solving:Strong ability to identify issues analyze them and implement effective solutions.
Communication Skills:Excellent communication skills for coordinating tasks and interacting with various departments.
Regulatory Knowledge:Knowledge of MSHA/OSHA regulations and the ability to ensure compliance in daily operations.
