We are seeking an experienced senior accountant to join our team. This is a hybrid/in office position based in our Miami FL corporate office. As Senior Staff Accountant Ship Operations Accounting youll be responsible forfor participating in monthend close financial reporting and SOX or internal control processes related to ship operating expenses including Entertainment Freight Fuel Insurance Port R&M and Shipboard prepare and submit journals reconciliations report analysis and other deliverables within the oversight of the Ship Ops Manager. Youll continuously look for improvements to processes to ensure additional confidence related to the accuracy of financial information provided/submitted. Ideal candidates will need to be able to multitask in a high demanding environment specifically around accelerated monthly close processes.

Responsibilities

  • Participate and support the monthly quarterly and annual close process for Princess Cruises. Ensure proper reporting according to GAAP IFRS and Carnival Corp & PCL accounting policies.
  • Prepare and submit timely and accurate reconciliations of balance sheet accounts.
  • Participate and support in the required department SOX testing control certification and processes including proving necessary support to internal and external auditors according to established departmental timelines.
  • Support planning and forecasting activities as related to Ship Operating expenses. Includes completing variance analysis of financial performance results against budget forecast and prior periods to ensure accurate financial reporting for Ship Operating related balances.
  • Continuously work to improve efficiency and effectiveness of related business processes. Continuously work to understand and address inherent compliance/control risks.
  • Provide meaningful information and analysis on adhoc inquires to meet departmental objectives of financial analysis support.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting Finance or a related field. CPA preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive Accounting/Finance experience.
  • Strong GAAP accounting experience with application to operating Departments and SarbanesOxley knowledge.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel knowledge and skill.
  • Experience with Oracle or another enterprise level accounting system preferred.
  • Experience with Blackline preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Capable of effectively prioritizing and managing multiple projects and tasks.
  • Flexibility regarding peak work times particularly month end close.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Princess is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas at this time (e.g. H1B status).

This is a hybrid/in office position based in our Miami FL corporate must be comfortable going into the office 3 days/week (currently TuesdayThursday).

  • Base Salary Range: $71200$96100. The range is applicable for the labor market where the role is intended to be hired. Final base pay is directly related to each candidates qualifications and experience uniquely.
