Position Overview:- Learn about the HCPH organization and the services we provide to the Community.
- Plan organize and execute community outreach events to education community on public health issues and/or provide services.
- Plan organize and execute community projects for the benefit of county residents.
- Work with an Administrative Function: Finance Epidemiology Communications Planning Emergency Response Health Equity Information Technology or other Public Health related program.
- Create evaluation tools and analyze data from population surveys or budget expenditures.
- Collect and analyze data from residents with infectious or chronic diseases substance abuse issues pregnant mothers and children etc. for state or federal grant funded health programs.
- Interface with internal and external stakeholders regarding public health efforts.
- Prepare a poster presentation at the end of the internship.

- Active enrollment in an undergraduate degree or trade program.
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
- Must be a resident of Harris County Precinct 1. Visit the following link to find out what is your Precinct: be available to work 40 hours per week from June 2 August 8 2025
- Ability to appropriately handle confidential information.
Preferences
Languages: Bilingual in English/Spanish a plus
General Information
Position Type and Typical Hours of Work: This is a fulltime position. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Other days and hours as necessary for engagement event.
Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers phones photocopiers filing cabinets and fax machines.
Physical Demands: This is a largely sedentary role; however some duties would require the ability to lift up to 20 pounds and bending & standing for periods at a time.
