The position is to drive the development of the electronics and readout system for the Neutron Emission Spectrometer being developed at TRIUMF in collaboration with General Fusion. The shortterm focus of the position is reading out about 200 Silicon Photomultipliers (SiPMs) providing excellent timing performances <100ps timing resolution) and rate capabilities (detection of 2 pulses separated by less than 50ns). In parallel the position is to support the implementation of a digital SiPM option in collaboration with Universite de Sherbrooke.

No supervisory responsibilities are required. Informal supervision of undergraduate students is possible.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
The incumbent must have basic experience about photon and ionization radiation detectors. The incumbent must have experience in highspeed >MHz) analog electronics related to single photon detection. In more details:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:
Applicants must be legally eligible to work in CanadaCanadian Citizen Permanent Resident or have a valid work permit for at least one year after the job starts.
This is a 1year term position with a possibility of being extended.
