Start your career in public service. The Georgia Department of Human Services (DHS) Division of Family and Children Services (DFCS) is seeking candidates for the position of Child WelfareServices Technician 1 for the Caregiver Recruitment and Retention Unit (CRRU).

This position will serve DFCS Region 8can be housed in any of the counties in this region depending on space availability and selected candidates county of residence. For counties in Region 8 please refer to the regional map here: OUR TEAM!!!

Job Description

Pay Grade: D

This position has a designated special entry salary that is nonnegotiable.

Under direct supervision provides a broad range of paraprofessional social services to patients/clients/consumers and their families. Conducts patient/client/consumer intakes participates in treatment team planning and performs crisis intervention.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Core Competences:
  • Strong knowledge and experience of Division of Family and Children Services programs and process.
  • DFCS social services system knowledge (SHINES).
  • Highly organized and selfmotivated.
  • Ability to provide transportation and evidence of a valid drivers license for required travel throughout the state.

Minimum Qualifications


Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to candidates who in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications demonstrate some or all of the following skills/experience.

  • Prior experience working in a child welfare related field.
  • Experience using DFCS social services system SHINES.
  • Reliable transportation and valid drivers license for workrelated travel.
