We are seeking a proactive Facilities Coordinator to oversee the Melbourne School of Health Sciences buildings teaching spaces and offices ensuring they are wellmaintained and fit for purpose. You will provide technical support to staff and students manage teaching and laboratory supplies and coordinate maintenance security and asset management across the School.

Leading a small team of facilities staff you will play a key role in keeping our facilities running smoothly while fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment. Reporting to the Operations Manager this role requires strong organisational and problemsolving skills to balance tight deadlines and competing priorities.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Oversee the Facilities Portfolio ensuring facilities are serviced and maintained via both asset audits and office inspections whilst ensuring OH&S compliance.
  • Provide advice to the Operations Manager and School Manager on operational matters relating to University procedures especially with respect to space & infrastructure technology and equipment tracking & maintenance of computers and assets.
  • Oversee a team of staff supporting facilities and program delivery as well as technical laboratory assistants to support teaching staff in the delivery of practical classes.
  • Maintain effective processes relating to procurement of laboratory supplies and equipment space management security and building access working closely with the relevant teams around the University.
  • Build and maintain strong and effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the efficient delivery of services and act as a liaison/contact person for stakeholders relating to building works and projects affecting MSHS buildings.

You may be a great fit if:
You are a highly organised professional with experience managing operations in a complex environment. You excel at prioritising tasks coordinating teams and ensuring smooth daytoday functions with a strong customer focus. Experience in the higher education sector is ideal along with the ability to lead coach and develop staff.

You will also have:

  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline and relevant experience or combination of education/training and relevant experience.
  • Highly developed skills in time management setting priorities planning and organising own work and influencing others in order to meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated customer service focused approach with experience of and commitment to providing high level professional support to all stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience working autonomously and as part of a team with the ability to lead processes across a broad complex team environment.
  • Demonstrated experience interpreting and providing advice on policies and procedures and the ability to coordinate quality assurance and compliance processes.
  • Demonstrated experience developing implementing and maintaining business processes.
  • Experience in leading coaching and developing staff.
