Position Summary:
The Department of Civil Environmental & Geomatics Engineering at Florida Atlantic University welcomes applications for an AssistantProfessor positions inthe general area ofTransportation Engineering. The department is particularly interested in candidates who can contribute in one or more of the following areas:durability and resiliency of infrastructure under multiple natural hazards and/or design and maintenance of resilient infrastructure systems and in addition transportation planning and operations AI in Transportation travel behavior and demand modeling emerging technologies in transportation and sustainable and resilient transportation.
The Department of Civil Environmental & Geomatics Engineering (CEGE) hosts 3 ABET accredited undergraduate programs a Masters degree in Civil Engineering and a Ph.D. in Transportation and Environmental Engineering with about 400 undergraduate and 65 graduate students. The faculty is highly interdisciplinary and conducts research primarily in the broad thematic areas of Urban Mobility Infrastructure and Sustainability/resilience. The Department has three research centers: the Center for Infrastructure and Constructed Facilities fau/engineering/cege/research/cicf/ the Center for Water Resiliency and Risk Reduction and the Freight Mobility Research Institute a TIER 1 University Transportation center sponsored by the US Department of Transportation).
The FAU College of Engineering and Computer Science is in the top three fastest progressing engineering colleges in the nation (US News and World Report Rankings. Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must have a B.S. and Ph.D. degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related major. The successful candidate will be expected to build and publish results from independent and/or collaborative research programs teach and mentor graduate and undergraduate students and participate in professional and departmental service activities.
