Summary:
With support from the Mellon Foundation Virginia Commonwealth University invites applications for a oneyear postdoctoral fellow position in interdisciplinary Indigenous Humanities (renewable for one additional year) to begin August 2025.
The successful candidate trained in the humanities or humanistic social sciences will be jointly appointed between an appropriate department in the College of Humanities and Sciences and the HRC based on their research focus and will teach 2 courses/year including an Introduction to NAIS.
Typical Duties
The postdoctoral fellow will help colead the new Indigenous Humanities Lab at the VCU Humanities Research Center (HRC) work with faculty on research and curricular initiatives and facilitate existing and emerging partnerships with local Indigenous nations as well as public humanities projects.
Minimum Qualifications
Ph.D. (by August 2025 start date) and demonstrated work or experience in Indigenous Humanities.
