Austin Bridge & Road Austin Bridge & Road is seeking a Night Shift Superintendent for a largescale project in Mesquite TX. This position involves providing daily supervision and coordination of civil and structural operations including pavement markings concrete barriers MSE walls bridge girders and substructure/superstructure preparation or concrete placements with a primary focus on achieving safety quality production and schedule goals. Success in this role requires critical thinking effective decisionmaking strong communication skills adaptability and a collaborative teamoriented mindset.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure jobsite safety by complying with company policies OSHA standards and E.E.O. regulations including conducting regular safety meetings.
- Guarantee highquality workmanship through inspections of field construction work in progress and adherence to approved plans and specifications.
- Manage project estimating startup and closeout activities including punch lists.
- Oversee crews equipment materials and subcontractors including allocation of resources to foremen and coordination of a large onsite equipment fleet.
- Direct salary staff and develop subordinates such as Assistant Superintendents and Field Engineers.
- Read and interpret owners drawings and specifications to ensure all staff and subcontractors meet job requirements.
- Develop and maintain project CPM schedules and lookahead schedules while analyzing job cost reports to meet budget and schedule goals.
- Supervise selfperformed labor material and equipment cost management to optimize efficiency and reduce expenses.
- Act as a liaison between owners architects and suppliers to maintain effective communication and collaboration.
- Monitor all aspects of cost and production adjusting manpower or methods as needed.
- Coordinate and supervise the Field Office Manager to ensure accurate records and reporting.
- Perform inspections allocate resources and monitor the progress of equipment and materials.
- Conduct additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 10 years of experience in large heavy civil projects including TxDOT or highway construction.
- Bachelors degree in civil engineering is preferred.
- Experience with demolition earthwork concrete paving and setting temporary concrete barriers is a plus.
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is an advantage.
- Strong commitment to jobsite safety with a proven record of demonstrating safe work practices.
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration across teams.
- Ability to thrive in a fastpaced team environment and consistently meet deadlines.
Requirements:
- Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions including rain snow and extreme temperatures.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts including:
- Swing shift 12:00 PM to 12:00 AM)
- Night shift 6:00 PM to 5:00 AM)
- Availability for oncall work as required.
