Job Description
We are seeking an innovative Software Development Manager to join our International Emerging Stores (IES) Delivery Experience (DEX) organization specifically leading the Returns Customer Experience (RCX) team focusing on Product Lifecycle Support and return policy governance. In this critical role you will be responsible for driving the development and implementation of software solutions that enhance our product lifecycle management and streamline return policy governance across our emerging international markets. You will lead a team of talented engineers collaborating closely with product managers business stakeholders and crossfunctional teams to deliver robust scalable systems that support efficient return policy governance and PLS experience.
Candidate for this role will possess a unique blend of technical expertise and leadership acumen. You should have a deep understanding of distributed systems architecture and the ability to guide implementation of complex solutions that can operate at Amazons vast scale. Your technical prowess should be complemented by strong mentorship skills as youll be responsible for nurturing and developing engineering talent within your team. Were looking for someone who thrives in leading small agile teams demonstrating a handson approach and taking full ownership of product outcomes. Exceptional communication skills are crucial as youll need to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences from engineering teams to executive stakeholders. You should be adept at proposing and championing innovative ideas that drive tangible business value. 3 years of engineering team management experience
7 years of engineering experience
8 years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing certification and livesite operations
Experience partnering with product or program management teams
Experience designing or architecting (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
Experience in communicating with users other technical teams and senior leadership to collect requirements describe software product features technical designs and product strategy
Experience in recruiting hiring mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills and make them more effective product software engineers
