This is an exciting time to join Clifford Road Primary School. With our nursery becoming full time in September 2025 we are looking to appoint a qualified teacher to join our dedicated and supportive team. This role is well suited to an experienced Early Years Practitioner who is looking to take on a middle leader role.
We are looking to appoint a committed and enthusiastic class teacher who will join the EYFS team forming positive relationships with staff pupils and parents and uphold the strong caring ethos and inclusive environment of our friendly and popular school.
As Nursery Manager your role will be to act as the lead professional for the team within nursery ensuring excellent provision is developed and that all staff in the nursery are outstanding practitioners.
Your responsibilities include:
- coordinating the resources for teaching and learning within the nursery in conjunction with the schools planning and resourcing policy
- daily rotas and changes within the nursery
- monitoring behaviour within the nursery
- tracking progress and attainment of learners; coordinating interventions
- ensuring the availability of advice to all members of nursery for consistency
- attending meetings and leading staff CPD as appropriate
- acting as line manager for performance management.
We would like to hear from you if you have:
- nursery or EYFS experience
- a proven track record of recent and successful class teaching in nursery or EYFS
- good understanding of current theory and best practice in teaching and learning particularly as it relates to achieving high rates of progress of children of primary age
- good subject knowledge of core National Curriculum
- experience supporting pupils who speak English as an additional language
- a strong knowledge of the teaching of Early Reading.

We are a 2form entry school with 410 pupils on roll and 30 children in our nursery at the heart of the vibrant town of Ipswich.
