Job Description

We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Patient Finance Officer to join our team on a parttime basis. This is a varied role responsible for quoting payments invoicing and lodging of all patient services.

Your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

  • Facilitation of informed financial consent including preparation of Fee estimates and consultation with patients
  • Liaising with and lodging claims to external bodies such as Medicare
  • Processing payments for invoices raised
  • Detailed note taking of all patient interactions in the appropriate systems
  • Ensuring all nonclinical patient finance questions are answered in an efficient manner
  • Referring and followup of any clinical queries with the appropriate departments
  • Responding to phone queries voicemail messages and inbox enquiries

Qualifications :

This role will suit a good alrounder someone who has solid administration experience and enjoys variety in their work. The patient finance team provides key support internally as well as to our patients you must be someone who works collaboratively and really cares about what you do. 

To be successful you will have; 

  • Strong computer skills including competence in using Patient Administration systems (or the ability to quickly learn new systems)
  • Working knowledge of Medicare processes and rules preferred
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to organise and prioritise work effectively within a busy and demanding environment
  • Available for team relief across a 5day working week between the hours of 7am to 3:30pm
  • Strong skills in the Microsoft Office Suite particularly Excel
  • A positive attitude and approach to work with a commitment to excellent service and accuracy
