Job Description

Essential Job Functions

  • Liaise with internal project teams and maintaining strong supplier relations
  • Evaluating products and suppliers according to key business criteria
  • Researching and identifying prospective suppliers
  • Prepare proposals request quotes and negotiate purchase terms and
    conditions
  • Prepare and issue purchase orders and agreements
  • Analyze industry and demand trends and support senior management with the development and implementation of sourcing strategies
  • Manage vendor relationships and monitor supplier performance to ensurecompliance with contractual agreements and quality standards
  • Maintain accurate records of procurement transactions contracts andvendor information
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements withinthe procurement function
  • Purchase goods or services that meet the quantity and qualityexpectations of the organization
  • Monitors supplier Key Performance Indicators including on Safety Quality CostDrive spend compliance into established supply chain strategies
  • Develop relationships with key internal Crane business decision makers tosupport the creation of a world class procurement experience
  • Data gathering analysis and report preparation as required
  • Provides specialized purchasing expertise to support functions
  • Support the supplier development activities as required
  • Daily purchasing and material expediting as required
  • Compliance with the companys business conduct guidelines

Other Skills & Abilities

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; Oracle; Advanced Excel abilities (pivot tables VLookup macros charting/graphing)
  • Demonstrated understanding of purchasing policies procedures practices andthe value and use of procuretopay (P2P) digital platforms
  • Skilled at change management
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills in order to interact withsuppliers business leaders and all other internal stakeholders
  • Excellent communication skills written verbal and presentation skills; comfortableand credible with both internal stakeholders and external audiences
  • Demonstrated negotiation skills including an understanding supplier contractmanagement
  • Excellent managerial and organizational skills High level of integrity anddependability with a strong sense of urgency to deliver

Certificates & Licenses

  • Institute for Supply Management (ISM) CPSM CIPS or Six Sigma Black Belt preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Talking hearing and using hands to operate computers
  • Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus
  • Job may require extended sitting or standing use of standard office equipment
  • Travel 1020

Education & Experience

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience in Procurement/Purchasing
  • Minimum 5 years of sourcing and supplier relations experience
  • Logistics transportation or supply chain management industry experience ispreferred
  • Previous experience and demonstrated skills in a leadership or a supervisory role
