recruiting for fulltimeAccounting Technician 2 located in
Juneau Alaska.



What You Will Be Doing
The Accounting Technician 2 is tasked with ensuring that foster care unlicensed relative adoption & guardianship provider records are up to date subsidy agreements meet federal and state regulations as well as providing excellent customer service to frontline workers and resource families. Continuous support and training will be provided by supervisors and experienced teammates as you develop advanced understanding of the Office of Childrens Services Vendor & Provider Payments Unit processes of responding to provider and payment inquiries assisting in vendor setup reviewing submitted documents and invoices engaging in scheduled weekly certification tasks processing special payments and other duties as assigned. Willingness to learn as well as previous experience utilizing concepts of financial transactions documentation review attention to detail ability to accept feedback and excellent verbal and written communication is required to be successful in this position.

The Provider Payments Unit is located on the 4th floor of the Goldstein Building located in beautiful downtown Juneau Alaska. We are surrounded by fantastic window views of the mountains and have access to a variety of local stores restaurants and the Gastineau Channel Boardwalk.

We Are Seeking a Candidate with the Following Competencies:
  1. Attention to Detail: Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.

  2. Customer Service: Works with clients and customers (that is any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces including the general public individuals who work in the agency other agencies or organizations outside State government) to assess their needs provide information or assistance resolve their problems or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.

  3. Computer Skills: Uses computers software applications databases and automated systems to accomplish work.
Special Note
  • All positions require valid ID and successful completion of a background investigation including fingerprinting and a criminal records check.

One year of entry technical level accounting or clerical bookkeeping experience.

Substitutions:
Certification as an Accounting Technician from an accredited college will substitute for the required experience.

Post secondary education from an accredited college will substitute for the required experience 3 semester/4 quarter hours equal one month) if it includes at least 6 semester/8 quarter hours in accounting.
