Meeting Street is currently looking for an Early Learning Center Manager and Education Coordinator.


Duties:

  • Ensures that the Early Learning Center (ELC) and RI PreK programs are safe nurturing developmentally appropriate and inclusive programs for young children of all abilities and their families.
  • Requires knowledge of RI State licensing through the Department of Human Services (DHS) and The RI Department or Education (RIDE).
  • Experience with NAEYC and BrightStars accreditation process
  • Required knowledge of the ITERS ECERS and CLASS tools
  • Oversees and ensures that the Early Learning Center and Rhode Island PreKindergarten have a highquality curriculum that follows developmentally appropriate practice the Rhode Island Early Learning and Development Standards and meets the individual needs of children with all abilities.
  • Demonstrates culturally informed practice and behavior management and discipline practices with the ability to neutralize the pattern of inequitable discipline of children of color.
  • Collaborates with Early Intervention Child Outreach and Special Education Teams from partnering districts and RIDE.
  • Develops facilitates and implements strategic initiatives in accordance with the agencys strategic plan.
  • Ability to lead professional development trainings for staff.
  • Provides supervision for staff allowing opportunities to explore challenging issues and increase their understandings of different perspectives and challenges our students and families face.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree that meets the requirements of the Rhode Island Department of Human Services (DHS) and BrightStars regulations and requirements.
  • Current RIDE teacher certification in early childhood education (PK2; special education certification (early childhood) preferred.
