Controller

This is an exciting time for ACRs Accounting Department! We are moving Accounting Operations to the Cloud implementing NetSuite ERP as the core financial system. The Controller is a key stakeholder and contributor for this project and will lead the Accounting Team through the implementation with a goal to automate streamline and optimize not only ACRs Accounting Operations but also the underlying chart of accounts. This position will play a critical role in supporting change management related to the new ERP system with all ACRs business partners (internal and external).

Essential Duties

• Lead Accounting Team through ERP Implementation of NetSuite. Actively seek to use automation and technology to streamline operations and drive organizational efficiencies and improvements with focus on accuracy timeliness and high level of customer service. Key activities include: centralizing accounts receivable simplifying payroll & timekeeping implementing driverbased allocations and deploying NetSuites grants/project management module.
• Manage the organizations relationship with its external auditors and direct the annual financial UG and benefit plan audits.
• Maintain knowledge of current applicable accounting bestpractices; evaluate and implement new technical accounting standards pronouncements and guidance in accordance with GAAP (active CPA license required)
• Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures; make recommendations to enhance internal controls to ensure federal and state regulatory compliance.
• Assist with preparation of materials for Board Audit Committee and senior management
• Direct accounting operations including oversight of key activities: monthend close account reconciliations cash receipts cash disbursements biweekly payroll processing 500 employees) tax compliance and verifying the accuracy and completeness of all financial transactions.
• The Controllers Group has a staff of 14. The Controller provides coaching and direct supervision of 3 positions: ManagerGL ManagerAP/AR and Sr. Payroll Administrator.

Qualifications and Experience

• BS/BA in Accounting or Finance; CPA required
• Minimum of 15 years of progressive accounting experience including at least 7 years management experience; public accounting experience preferred
• 501(c)3 and (c)6 Nonprofit organization experience a plus but not required.
• Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards
• Previous experience implementing an ERP NetSuite preferred.
• Evidence of the ability to streamline and reengineer business processes
• Demonstrated success in planning and directing projects and implementing new technology/tools to support accounting operations
• Proficiency with Excel Word and PowerPoint
• Experience with: ERP Systems (NetSuite and Dynamics GP preferred) Concur (Travel & Expense) and UKG (Payroll & Timekeeping) preferred

Although this position will work a Remote schedule we seek a candidate who resides within a commutable distance 2 hours or less) to the Reston VA office. When working remotely workers must be selfmotivated possess excellent time management and be highly organized. Reliable internet connection is a must!

ACR is committed to a total rewards compensation philosophy that includes base salary in addition to our full suite of comprehensive benefits. ACRs goal is to pay competitively and equitably. It is typical for individuals to be hired in the entry to middle of the range for their role and compensation decisions depend on each cases circumstances. A reasonable estimate of the annual compensation range for this position is $171000 $240000.
