Job Description

Overview

The Teens Lifting Teens (TLT) program is focused on helping teens build positive skills through nearpeer mentoring and servicelearning activities. Funded by a 4H grant through Utah State University (ending June 30 2026 this program aims to improve teen leadership within youth councils (such as 4H youth councils Youth City Councils Library Youth Councils etc.. We are looking for a parttime Program Coordinator to help manage and coordinate the program. The coordinator will support tasks like tracking finances gathering evaluation data and assisting with curriculum development. This position works closely with the Program Director to implement the TLT program across Utah specifically the Central and Southern Regions.

This position is telework eligible within the state of Utah.

Responsibilities

  • Developing a mentor relationship with the various sites in the south of the state. Help them understand how to use the budget what are best practices for service learning and mentoring ensure they are meeting the expectations to participate in the grant.
  • Actively participate as a statewide team member Coordinate with local youth advisors and the grant program staff teach help plan statewide training/conferences etc.
  • Recruit various types of youth councils to participate in this grant.
  • Train different youth councils and advisors on how to implement the grant program within their council.
  • Employ innovative approaches that reach diverse audiences (advertise and market). This may include social media workshops short courses seminars demonstrations oneonone consultations emails interactive video conferencing etc.
  • Respond to requests office visits telephone calls emails and correspondence promptly and professionally.
  • Evaluate document and report impacts. Good organizational skills are necessary.
  • Coordinate with administrators and other personnel to manage state program budgets schedules leave and other jobrelated activities.
  • Facilitate purchase and finance tracking for various youth councils.
  • Work evenings and weekends as needed to expand reach.
  • Travel to various sites (specifically in central and southern Utah) to provide trainings and assistance to youth councils across the state. (There is reimbursement for miles driven)
  • Support the civil right mandate of Utah State University Extension.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree or appropriate relevant experience.
  • High degree of selfmotivation. Ability to plan organize and direct educational programs
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Strong interpersonal oral and written skills.
  • Experience in teaching adult and/or youth audiences
  • Strong organizational time and project management skills.
  • Strong computer and technology skills: including Google suite Email spreadsheets and design.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English.
  • Must have a current drivers license auto insurance and access to reliable transportation to be able to travel to multiple work sites across Southern Utah.
  • Ability to work nights and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with program development and/or delivery related to 4H youth development and/or youth leadership and community engagement.
  • Skills and experience with:
    • Networking developing positive relationship (from cold call to partnership)
    • Social media
    • Canva
    • Editing
  • Ability to communicate effectively in Spanish
  • Prior experience with the Land Grant University System

The environment and physical requirements may change depending on the specific function of the work each department performs. Incumbents may be in both indoor and outdoor environments. Indoors in an office space event space or public space are protected from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. Incumbents may nearly continuously sit and often use repetitive hand motion (such as typing).

Outdoors incumbents may not be protected from weather conditions and may be exposed to extreme heat and extreme cold. Additionally indoor or outdoor work environments may include being confined or in narrow spaces for periods of time. The incumbent may also be exposed to loud noises or vibrations from equipment and conditions that may affect the respiratory system such as fumes odors dusts mists gases and poor ventilation. Bending crawling and crouching may be required. Incumbents may be required to lift push and/or pull objects up to 50 pounds and be required to walk and/or stand for long periods of time.
