Responsible for delivery of care to UnityPoint Health System customers through the efficient and timely management of instruments supplies and equipment resources. Instrument care includes staffing the instrument room decontamination cleaning prep/pack sterilization delivery and storage. Supply management includes requisitioning; receiving storage and delivery while building case carts and staffing the clean core. As a member of the interdisciplinary team responsible for the efficient and timely management of instruments supplies and equipment resources used for the delivery of patient care.
Performs cleaning disinfecting and decontamination duties on medical instruments equipment and supplies. Perform quality indicators and maintain sterilization instruments instrument trays and packs including issues stores and distributes supplies with accurate proper storage of sterile supplies and equipment using first in first out rotation and periodic case carts accurately and in a timely manner giving priority to emergency and next day supply and instrument order requests as received from other knowledge that patient and workplace safety is a priority by preventing errors accidents and infections and reporting potential or actual concerns inventory supply operates equipment according to manufacturer proficiency in electronic instrument tracking and management systems and supply management system.
High School Graduate or GED equivalent. Must read write speak and comprehend English fluently. Employee preferred to have successfully completed a Central Sterile certification process and have a current CRCST certificate. Will accept noncertified applicants with previous related experience. After hire new employees will need to successfully complete the inhouse modular education program including the Purdue Central Service course and HSPA Certification exam.
