3 Tenure Track Faculty: PsyD program Director MA program Training Director MA program
POSITION
The School of Professional Psychology (SOPP) at Spalding University seeks to hire a fulltime tenuretrack faculty member at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank to join our clinical PsyD program as well as a fulltime tenuretrack Director and Training Director of our new innovative clinical MA program. Fully accredited since 1989 our doctoral program is highly successful with a strong national reputation. Our new MA program will replicate the first two years of the doctoral program for students who want to practice at the Masters level. Candidates must hold a doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology either with or immediate eligibility for licensure in KY. Outstanding postdoctoral candidates may be considered as long as the EPPP (national licensing exam) has been passed at the doctoral level.
JOB SUMMARY
For the PsyD position we seek candidates who possess strong knowledge and skill in psychological assessment. For the MA Director and Training Director positions we are seeking candidates with a broad range of expertise to teach across the MA curriculum. Successful candidates will contribute to our highly collaborative environment be passionate about training the next generation of psychological practitioners and be expected to achieve a strong balance across the three domains of teaching scholarship and service. First they will be strong teachers who utilize best practices in teaching and enjoy student mentoring. Ideally they will also be competent in supervision and support the operations of our department training clinic the Center for Behavioral Health Second they will be thoughtful scholars with either a record of presenting and/or publishing in their chosen research interest areas or demonstrated promise to do so. Third they will possess strong interpersonal skills and a cooperative spirit to work collegially with others on university and departmental service committees. The position offers scheduling flexibility (other than class times) and faculty members are encouraged to use up to eight hours per week in research consultation direct service (e.g. private practice) and/or supervision. Opportunities are available to engage in direct service as part of our Faculty Practice Plan where faculty are able to see their own private practice clients in the Center for Behavioral Health. Additional contract supervision for doctoral students on practicum may also be available.
