We announce the followingANTICIPATED SPECIAL EDUCATIONTEACHING vacancy in the Rochester Community Schools for the 202526 school year. Applications will be accepted until FILLED.

TEACHER OF COGNITIVE IMPAIRMENTS

DISTRICTWIDE

1.0 FTE

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate in Special Education
  2. Michigan Teaching Endorsement in the area of Cognitive Impairment (CI)
  3. Experience working with students with cognitive impairments preferred.
  4. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

REPORTS TO: Building Principal Special Education Supervisor(s) and Director of Special Education

JOB GOAL: To develop instruct support and implement individualized programs for students who require specialized instruction and individualized supports through Special Education Programs and Services and Individual Education Plans (IEPs)

SALARY:

Per Rochester Education Association Master Agreement

PROCESS:

Selection of an individual to fill this vacancy is determined by the appropriate administrators based upon experience qualifications and professional attributes.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Comply with timelines laws and regulations that relate to district state federal policies and procedures.
  2. Monitor and document student progress on IEP goals.
  3. Collaborate with all service providers and other staff to develop instruction and support goals that are designed to meet the learning needs of students.
  4. Compile and submit monthly Medicaid reports.
  5. Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of individual students.
  6. Participate in building meetings as directed by the building principal.
  7. Performs other duties as requested by the Building Principal Special Education Supervisor(s) Director of Special Education or Assistant Superintendent.
