About Clover Garden School

Clover Garden School is a dynamic tuitionfree K12 public charter school located in Burlington North Carolina. Established in 2001 we serve a diverse community of over 960 students from Alamance Caswell Guilford Randolph Rockingham Orange and Wake counties. Exceptional Childrens Program

Our Exceptional Childrens Program is dedicated to meeting individual student needs through specially designed instruction and related service therapies for students identified with a disability under IDEA. Services are provided in settings with and without nondisabled students aiming to challenge students to show growth and make progress on their IEP goals. We emphasize collaboration among parents school staff and other personnel/agencies to make the best decisions for each child.

Position Summary

Clover Garden School is seeking a passionate and dedicated Exceptional Children (EC) Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide individualized instruction support and case management for students with disabilities ensuring they receive a quality education in alignment with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).

Key Responsibilities

Instructional Planning and Delivery:

  • Develop and implement individualized lesson plans tailored to students IEP goals.
  • Utilize a variety of teaching methods and instructional strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles.
  • Adapt general education curriculum as needed to meet the unique needs of students with disabilities.

Case Management:

  • Coordinate and oversee the development implementation and evaluation of IEPs.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal state and local regulations related to special education.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential student records including progress reports and documentation of services provided.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with general education teachers related service providers and support staff to facilitate inclusion and support student success.
  • Engage in regular communication with parents/guardians to provide updates on student progress and involve them in the educational process.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss student needs and develop appropriate interventions.

Classroom Management:

  • Create a positive and structured learning environment that promotes student engagement and success.
  • Implement behavioral management strategies to address and support student behavior.

Professional Development:

  • Stay current with best practices in special education through ongoing professional development.
  • Participate in schoolwide training sessions and staff meetings.

Qualifications

  • Educational Requirements:
  • Bachelors degree in Special Education or a related field.
  • Valid North Carolina teaching license in Special Education (or eligibility to obtain).


Experience:

  • Previous experience working with students with disabilities is preferred.
  • Familiarity with the development and implementation of IEPs.

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of special education laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team.
  • Proficiency in using technology for instructional and administrative purposes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in Special Education or a related field.
  • Experience in a charter school setting.
  • Knowledge of assistive technology and its integration into the classroom.
