Maintain positivity and resiliency while providing support for the field enforcement units of the Department of Public Safety at the Alaska State Troopers Northen Operations Center.
Display professionalism compassion and support to all individuals contacted in the line of duty. This includes but is not limited to the public field enforcement units civilian staff other agencies and coworkers.
Answer emergency and nonemergency calls for service via radio and phone for areas throughout the State of Alaska.

More information about the Department of Public Safety can be found on our website: Qualifications Two years of work experience. This experience must include six months of experience that entails clerical tasks such as greeting clients answering phones typing filing sorting mail entering data receiving payments making change or maintaining logs. COVER LETTER Shift work will be required. This position requires use of the Alaska Public Safety Information Network (APSIN) which means a background investigation including fingerprinting will be conducted. FIREARMS This position requires the use or possession of a firearm or ammunition. In accordance with the federal Omnibus Consolidated Appropriations Act of 1997 (PL 104208 if you have been convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence you may not hold this position. A misdemeanor crime of domestic violence is an offense that is 1 a misdemeanor under Federal or state law; and 2 has as an element the use or attempted use of physical force or the threatened use of a deadly weapon committed by a current or former spouse parent or guardian of the victim by a person with whom the victim shares a child in common by a person who is cohabiting with or has cohabited with the victim as a spouse parent or guardian or by a person similarly situated to a spouse parent or guardian of the victim. If you have ever been convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence do NOT apply for this position. This position requires the incumbent to submit to a fingerprint based criminal history background check. Due to the sensitive nature of this position and required access to APSIN an applicant with criminal convictions will not move forward in the selection process.
