How this Role Impacts Live Oak and its People

The Senior Business Development Officer (SBDO) Live Oak Express (LOE) plays a pivotal role in expanding our small dollar loan program which offers loans ranging from $10000 to $500000 to small business owners seeking fast and flexible funding solutions. This position is crucial in building and nurturing relationships with brokers establishing strategic partnerships and crossselling to existing clients within Live Oak Banks lending ecosystem. By driving these initiatives the SBDO directly contributes to the growth and success of our clients and the bank.

What Youll Do at Live Oak

Broker and Partnership Development:

  • Identify cultivate and manage relationships with loan brokers and other intermediaries to expand the reach of the Live Oak Express program.
  • Develop strategic partnerships to enhance loan origination channels and drive business growth.

CrossSelling Initiatives:

  • Collaborate with internal teams to identify opportunities for crossselling Live Oak Express loans to existing clients across various verticals.
  • Educate current borrowers on the benefits and features of the Live Oak Express loan offerings to meet their evolving financial needs.

Pipeline Management:

  • Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of prospective clients through proactive outreach networking and relationship management.
  • Utilize CRM tools to track leads monitor progress and ensure timely followup and conversion.

Market Research and Strategy:

  • Conduct thorough market research to identify trends assess competitive landscapes and uncover new business opportunities.
  • Analyze market shifts and competitor activities to inform strategic decisions and maintain a competitive edge.

Team Collaboration and Leadership:

  • Work closely with internal stakeholders including underwriting marketing and product development teams to ensure alignment and support for business development initiatives.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.

How Youll Do it

Strategic Relationship Building:

  • Leverage exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to establish and maintain strong relationships with brokers partners and clients.
  • Employ consultative sales techniques to understand client needs and offer tailored financial solutions.

Analytical and Strategic Thinking:

  • Apply analytical skills to interpret market data identify trends and develop strategies that capitalize on emerging opportunities.
  • Demonstrate strategic thinking in planning and executing business development initiatives that align with organizational goals.

Collaboration and Leadership:

  • Foster a collaborative environment by working effectively with crossfunctional teams to drive business objectives.
  • Exhibit leadership qualities by mentoring team members and contributing to a highperformance culture.

Required and Preferred Experience

Required:

  • Bachelors degree in business Finance Marketing or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience in business development sales or financial services with a focus on loan products or small business financing.
  • Proven track record of building and managing partnerships that drive business growth.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret market data and trends.
  • Excellent communication negotiation and relationshipbuilding skills.

Preferred:

  • Experience working with loan brokers and intermediaries in the financial services industry.
  • Familiarity with small dollar loan products and the unique needs of small business owners.
  • Advanced degree (e.g. MBA) or relevant certifications in finance or business development.

The base pay range for this position is $125000.00 $425000.00 per year. Compensation may also include annual bonuses and longterm incentives subject to various metrics and company policy. A candidates salary is determined by several factors including travel relevant work experience or skills and expertise.

Please note that we provide at least the minimum requirement of paid sick leave to our employees who reside in states that require employerpaid sick leave including but not limited to Arizona California Colorado District of Columbia Maine Maryland Massachusetts Michigan Nevada New Jersey New Mexico New York Oregon Rhode Island Vermont and Washington.
